Cold Air Intake System by AEM®. To deliver cooler air to the engine, this air intake system places the air filter outside the engine compartment. Cooler air is denser than warm air and so contains more oxygen, which results in better combustion and more power.
It's a well known fact that cooler air is denser and contains more oxygen. Cooler engine air inlet temperatures result in more power. But your stock, restrictive engine air intake system delivers hot air from the engine compartment!
Features:
- Delivers more oxygen to the combustion chamber by drawing in cooler air
- Custom designed and engineered to deliver maximum power for each specific vehicle
- Every system includes the innovative, oil-free, high-flow AEM Dryflow™ air filter
- Dyno-tuned air intake pipe constructed of mandrel-bent 6061 aluminum for smooth airflow
- Available in your choice of Gunmetal Gray or Polished
- Comes complete with all necessary mounting hardware and comprehensive installation instructions
- Backed by the AEM limited lifetime warranty
- Proudly manufactured in the USA
The answer to this dilemma is to install an AEM Cold Air Intake system. AEM starts by positioning its high-flow Dryflow air filter outside the engine compartment, to draw in the coolest air possible. AEM performs extensive temperature testing for each application to determine the best filter location. But that's not the end of the story. The Dryflow air filter is connected to the engine air intake by an aluminum tube tuned in length and diameter to match the engine's intake resonance. The combination of cold air and tuned free-flowing intake tube results in increased horsepower and torque. And there's no need to worry about problems with the engine control system when installing an AEM Cold Air Intake. During development, AEM monitors the engine control system fuel correction factors and sensors on each vehicle to make sure you wonp't get any CHECK ENGINE lights. Like all AEM air intake systems, the AEM Cold Air Intake system is made in the USA and backed by a lifetime warranty.
Dryflow filtering element:
Every AEM air intake system comes with the innovative, oil-free, high-flow AEM Dryflow air filter. Each Dryflow filter is engineered to exceed the normal flow capacities of the engine it is required for when clean, while providing outstanding filtration and dust holding capacity. And the flow requirements are exceeded by a wide margin, which allows you plenty of leeway for engine breathing modifications, without needing to worry about having enough intake airflow. The AEM Dryflow filter is constructed of a unique non-woven polyester-based filter media supported by aluminum screen wire for rigid structural strength. This filter media doesn't require oil to filter and trap dirt and contaminants, and actually sheds dirt under engine vibration, unlike cotton-gauze, which holds onto contaminants until you clean the filter. When it's time to clean, simply tapping the filter a few times will remove most of the dirt from the filter pleats. Then spray the filter with AEM's environmentally friendly, mild, all-purpose cleaner. Rinse the filter with clean water and allow to dry, or blow dry with compressed air. Best of all, the Dryflow filter requires no oiling, so there's never a chance of over-oiling. The Dryflow filter is extremely durable and will withstand almost unlimited cleanings.
